How to use the exam countdown
- Open the page: the Prelims 2027 timer starts on its own and updates every second.
- Read the calendar days and weeks left, and check the milestone table so you do not miss the application window.
- Pick how long one full revision of your syllabus takes to see how many cycles fit before the exam.
- Add your own exams with a name, date and start time. They stay in this browser until you delete them.
How the countdown works
The timer counts down to one fixed instant: 9:30 AM India Standard Time (UTC+5:30) on 23 May 2027. India does not use daylight saving, so that moment never shifts. The tool works out that instant in UTC and subtracts your device's current time, so the result is right in Delhi, Dubai or London. Calendar days left are counted from today's date in India, which avoids the off-by-one errors you get near midnight when your phone is set to another time zone.
Weeks left = days ÷ 7, with the remainder shown in days. Revision cycles = days left ÷ cycle length, rounded down to whole cycles.
Worked example
With 210 days to go, you have 30 weeks. A 30-day revision cycle fits 7 times. Using the rule-of-thumb split, about 125 days go to learning and the first revision, 53 days to further revisions and 32 days to mock tests and the final revision.
Tips for the last months
- Apply early: the application window from 13 January to 2 February 2027 is only three weeks long.
- Start full-length mock tests, including CSAT, at least 8 to 10 weeks before Prelims.
- Leave the final week for light revision of your own notes, not new sources.
